The Week Ahead

As we march into March, Mardi and I are filling up the week with some important radio segments.

On Monday, John Lindsey updates us on the devastating earthquake in Chile and tsunami that hit Hawaii. Steve Lerian previews upcoming concerts at the PAC and gives away some free tickets. Larry Allen from the Air Pollution Control District reports on the new study linking off-road vehicles in the Oceano Dunes to high air pollution on the Mesa.

On Tuesday, we hear from conservative Jeff Bliss and Republican Don Regan on the issues of the day. Nick Franco and Dan Eller also check in from Hearst Castle. Plus more chances for you to join us on the upcoming Hearst Castle garden and vista tour.

On Wednesday, we’ll meet visiting Middle East expert Dr. Jeff Halper and also hear from some local pilots who want to see the Oceano airport remain open.

On Thursday, chef Ian McPhee gives us an update on the local restaurant scene and we sell coupons to McPhee’s at 50 percent off! Get ready to go online and buy the certificates at 3:30. They will go fast.

On Friday, we’ll feature our Pet of the Week from Animal Services. Jeff Eckles examines the anti-federal movement in this country. And let’s also discuss the significant increase in deaths among California women giving birth. Does it have anything to do with hospitals promoting C-sections?

So, we’ve got some great topics and special guests lined up for the week. Hope you can tune in and call in. We’ve had some great shows lately and Mardi and I appreciate all your support.

Thanks for the heads up, Dave. Keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to hearing what Mr. Allen has to say on Monday.

Close down the Oceano airport. Close it now. And take those &%$# off-roaders with you.

I think it would be a nice change to have this forum focus more on local issues such as the ones mentioned in this posting. The national issues get people riled up, but the discussions rarely lead anywhere or change the situation. So, let's have more (productive) discussion of local issues..

Always good to hear from Jerry in Arizona (see above posting). Since it's Sunday, I guess he must have fired off this posting on his way to church.

Remember when that Arizona guy moved there from California, telling us all how he was so smart because the Arizona economy was so superior to California's? And that he attributed to the more "conservative" government there. Well the jokes on him! Turns out the AZ economy is farther in the toilet than CA's.This is the same guy who has come on this forum and repeatedly made all kinds of predictions that turned out to be completely wrong, including his prediction that Barrack Obama had NO chance to ever be elected President. Well, at least you can say that Arizona guy puts his money where his mouth is—and that place has turned out, time and time again, to be the toilet.I've lost hope that he will ever wise up. Poor guy. My sympathies to his family.

Its so sad – there was a time when Jerry could construct a coherent argument and be someone worth debating. He's become such an empty shell of himself. I would laugh if it wasn't so sad.
