What It Is

So Norske and Wise Guy stopped by the site long enough this week to chastise me for allowing this toxic playground to flourish. Apparently they’re deeply offended by what passes for argument here and they threaten never to return again. They apparently believe the blog should be closed down. Yawn.

Allow me to restate the obvious: No one forces you to visit or participate in this blog. If it’s not to your liking, fine, move on. There are plenty of other blogs out there where you can comment and engage in the issues of the day with like-minded friends. Believe me, I don’t take it personally.

I have adopted a hands off policy on this blog, something our conservative friends might call deregulation. I’m not here to play cop. We’re all adults. I’m pretty open about letting people rant and rave and come across as foolish as they want to be. Hell, I even let Jerry still sneak on from time to time when he isn’t attacking me personally. If you can’t handle a little mud, move on. But don’t belittle those of us who are engaged in debating the issues of the day. There are several excellent arguments contained in these posts. I learn from every thread.

Bottom line: This blog is what it is. Nothing more. Nothing less. We’re not creating art here, folks.

On Friday, Dr. Phil Ortiz looks at the growing problems along the U.S. – Mexico border. Next week, we’ll get into prison reform in California.

Meanwhile, enjoy the blog. Or not. It’s open 24/7/365.
