Bring on McCain

Tonight Barack Obama did the impossible — he rendered Hillary Clinton irrelevant in the presidential race of 2008. No one could have predicted this a year ago. It is just a matter of time before Clinton is forced to do the right thing and step aside, crushing the dream of continuing the Clinton legacy. The senator from Illinois has proven to be a formidable opponent and his campaign has withstood the swiftboating tactics of talk radio and far right extremists, throwing everything they can at the guy, hoping something will stick. Guess what? He’s still standing.

So bring on McCain. Bring him on. Let him explain why he didn’t even vote for Bush in 2000 and why he almost left the GOP in 2004 to run with John Kerrey. Let him explain the context of his remark about staying in Iraq for 100 years. It will be a great campaign in the fall, but Obama will win because McCain will stumble and not even Rush will be able to protect him.

Obama for America.
