Sunday Night

I just want to take a moment and thank all the bloggers who are participating in this newly-revised version of “The Dave Congalton Show” Blog. I think we’ve reached our goal of trying to clean up the comments and weeding out the personal and abusive comments that plagued the blog earlier. Regardless of political perspective, I really applaud the arguments being advanced here and thank everyone for putting such time and effort into the debate.

For my part, I need to go back to posting more than once a week. It’s always tough to decide how long to let a thread go. You don’t want to stifle debate, but I also don’t want to let things go on too long. We’ll see what happens.

Also want to publicly thank Matt Donovan for the bang-up job he’s doing as my new producer/call screener. We all miss Tom, but Matt is really working hard to make his own mark on the show and I appreciate all his help. Great guy.

Congrats to Daniel from Atascadero and Mary from Los Osos who won the tickets and limo ride to see Tony Bennett at the Santa Barbara County Bowl and thanks again to our sponsor California Limo for making it happen.

The new station onwers take over October 1. Stay tuned!

Radio-Tradio is set for Tuesday. Get ready.

Let me take a moment to thank you, too, for the hard work and extra time you’ve had to spend “cleaning up” the blog’s comment environment.

Hat’s off for all that you do!

I agree! We all work better in a sanitized environment free from uncensored comments and conservative talk radio.
Thanks for a place to be liberal and proud Dave, I for one an glad to do without being challanged for posting talking points from our friends at MoveOn.org

It would be great to have a reliable post every Monday morning that just dealt with your schedule for the week.

Many of us are busy and want to catch your show and if there was a topic or guest I found particularly interesting, I might just change my schedule to be close to a radio/computer.

Also, if we knew your upcoming guests – we could suggest questions that we (and possibly the public) would want answered.

You could add other posts throughout the week as you see fit.

The blog is much better – although I miss the “private dining area” posts from Tom Madsen (I don’t miss the commercial).

    SLO Bear,

Thanks for the suggestion and post. To be honest, I typically don’t know that far in advance what the show is going to look like. That’s why I try to pump up future segments during the show.

For example, with this coming week, I may be 50% booked. Wide open.

But I’ll see if i can figure out a better way to let you know of special segments in advance.

How bout a segment on congress’ 11% rating! The lowest in the history of polls
How the stock market is at an all time high
How the deaths in Irag are off by way more than 1/2.
Why the dems want out of Iraq especially now that the surge is working like a swiss watch
Why dingy harry wasted so much valuable time trying to attack the #1 one man in talk radio
or why congress wants to extend free health care for families making $60-90,000 a year
Hillary being behind media matters and at least 5 other soros attack sites
That none of the 3 top democratic candidates not being willing to commit to having troops out of Iraq by the end of their first term

So much to talk about Dave…how bout it?

Give up on all the trivial crap…we want some meat here and on the air! Buck up…let’s keep it real!
