Ahead on Hometown Radio

We’ve got a busy week coming up. Tuesday is our live remote from Mission Plaza. Tom and I will be down there broadcasting from the Mozart Festival. Stop by and say hi between 3 and 7 p.m. We’ll have some free KVEC mugs to give away and enjoy the great summer weather.

Meanwhile, Tom ships out on vacation starting Wednesday so we’ll miss having him around.

We had a nice lunch today in Shell Beach at Alex’s Barbecue. Tom, Mrs. Tom, Jack & Evelyn from Grover, Pastor Doug and Marilyn joined me. Harry was the perfect host. Good grub. Nice and cheap. Check it out. We’ll go back.

Other shows coming up this week: Chris Ahrend explains the complex Middle East tinderbox on Monday and we’ll also hear from people opposed to the West Pac development in downtown SLO. We’ll get an update on the Los Osos sewer system on Wednesday and SLO Mayor Romero joins us on Thursday. Good, important shows coming up. Tune in and call in!

I guess I’m having a mid-life crisis. Got up the other morning, called a travel agent and booked a trip to Antarctica in late January. It’s been a lifelong dream of mine. It’s now or never. Have a big adventure you always wanted to do? Well, go for it. Don’t wait.

Dave, I heard it is a really cool place to visit, and I heard the women are hot! You should get clearchannel to pay for it since you can use it as subject matter. At least you can use it as a write off.

Please tell me that your Wednesday “update” on the Los Osos wastewater project will not be a commercial for the lunatic current Board of Directors. They are very good at acting as if all is well, acting as if they are wizards of “sustainable” projects (that’s what the recharge fields in the Broderson Avenue lands were going to do in the old, destroyed project). Now they are tens of millions in the hole (actually us homeowners are) after they breached multi-million dollar contracts. Mr. Congalton, please ask the hard questions of WHOMEVER you place on your show! The new board barely skinned into office on a pack of lies, all proven false since they took office. Be fair but keep your eyes on the tens of millions we are going to lose in claims and court due to their insane actions and pie-in-the-sky promises. Thank You.

My parents saved for years to do the Alaskan cruise. They loved it! When they debarked the ship they saw a sign “See bald eagles & lunch $ 10 a person” So they paid the money to see the bald eagles. They were driven to the local land fil, set down on the top of a hil with a bag lunch and picked up 45 minutes later. Bald eagles at the dump! Thery still laugh about it. Have fun Dave.
