Rush Gets Caught with Viagra: Write Your Own Joke!

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (June 26) – Rush Limbaugh was detained for more than three hours Monday at Palm Beach International Airport after authorities said they found a bottle of Viagra in his possession without a prescription.

Customs officials found a prescription bottle labeled as Viagra in his luggage that didn’t have Limbaugh’s name on it, but that of two doctors, said Paul Miller, spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

A doctor had prescribed the drug, but it was “labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes,” Roy Black, Limbaugh’s attorney, said in a statement.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement examined the 55-year-old radio commentator’s luggage after his private plane landed at the airport from the Dominican Republic, said Miller.

The matter was referred to the sheriff’s office, whose investigators interviewed Limbaugh. According to Miller, Limbaugh said that the Viagra was for his use, and that he obtained it from his doctors.

Investigators confiscated the drugs, which treats erectile dysfunction, and Limbaugh was released without being charged.

The sheriff’s office plans to file a report with the state attorney’s office. Miller said it could be a second-degree misdemeanor violation.

Limbaugh reached a deal last month with prosecutors who had accused the conservative talk-show host of illegally deceiving multiple doctors to receive overlapping painkiller prescriptions. Under the deal, the charge, commonly referred to as “doctor shopping,” would be dismissed after 18 months if he continues to submit to random drug tests and treatment for his acknowledged addiction to painkillers.

Well, now we at least know the real reason he was always so angry with Bill Clinton.

Another non-local topic. Sigh. When you first talked about a blog, I kinda figured it would be an extension to the show, a way to follow up on topics discussed on the radio, or for people who are at work and can’t call in.

I guess I’ll attempt the tie-in and say that maybe some of that Viagra fell out of the airplane and landed on the Manse on Marsh, hence the hugely tall building? barump bump

Kirk: I agree. Instead of talking about the media (of which Dave is a member and would have personal opinion on) and whether or not they have a right to disclose secret government programs, Dave would prefer to be straight man for our Rush Limbaugh penis jokes. With that, did you hear the real reason why Rush was arrested? Rush offered the agent a bribe to let him go, but when it was time to pay, he stiffed him. barump bump Who can blame Rush for getting the Viagra, really? Being the head of the hard right can be rough work. barump-bump Since Rush has no known girlfriend, maybe the agents should have checked him for smuggled Ben Gay. barump-bump Thank you, thank you, you’re a great audience, be sure to tip your bartender and your waitresses.

Personally, I like the fact that Dave posts alternative topics on this blog. If you want to talk about the other topics, then CALL IN to his show, like I do.

In terms of Rush and Viagra, well, look at the big picture. Why would Rush be taking Viagra on a trip to the Domincan Republic. We all know his girlfriend dumped him. He wouldn’t be taking Viagra unless he was expecting to have sex.

    As in sex with H-O-O-K-E-R-S.

So Rush-bo pays for sex and probably likes young girls. Anyone else here catch the hypocrisy of Rush beating up on Bill Clinton?

I’d be willing to bet that Clinton never needed Viagra!

Kinda gives new meaning to the term I’ve always applied to Rush: “blowhard”

Seriously – The Dominican Republic is reputed to be a place where under-age prostitutes can be easily obtained. Maybe if it had happened in Vegas, Rush could have expected it stay in Vegas, but now all bets are off: Let’s tune in to hear detailed reports of the establishments that “Limp-paw” patronized there, the particular types of services he purchased, and (most importantly) whether the Viagra helped him to make full use of those services.

Are there any of Rush’s dwindling listeners who remain willing to defend his conduct?

How interesting that the lefties would immediately assume Rush was visiting prostitutes. Once again, my personal policy of adding a simple addendum to leftists’ rants about conservative motivation fits perfectly. The addendum: “That’s what I would do”.
But why is nobody asking why Palm Beach authorities would be going through the luggage on a private charter flight (that virtually never happens), and more to the point, why would this personally emparrasing situation be made public by those authorities? Palm Beach, not Limbaugh, needs investigating.

So, the left is projecting because some are questioning what Rush was doing in a country with a reputation for a tourist sex trade. I really could care less what Rush was doing in the Dominican Republic, as I could care less that he had some Viagra with him; the fact does remain however that he had prescription drugs in his possession and those drugs were not in his name, which is against the law. If Rush is guilty of this potential class 2 felony, he has violated a condition of his avoiding jail time for his previous drug “problem”. The newsworthiness of this whole episode is how in the past Rush has called for conviction and jail time for anybody violating current drug laws; now he is spending his money to avoid what he wants to happen to everybody else. Oh well, at least we all know that in addition to being a “recovering drug addict”, he is apparently impotent as well. Who did he use the Viagra with, anyway?

    Two things:

One, the news report said it was a misdemeanor offense. From the Washington Post: “Under Florida law certain prescription drugs, including Pfizer’s erectile dysfunction remedy Viagra, must bear the name of the person carrying them. Violation is a second-degree misdemeanor punishable by a $500 fine and 60 days in jail.” Now it’s a matter for the lawyers.

Two, I thought the Left believed that the sexual relations between two people was a personal matter, or does that only count with people with the last name of Clinton?

If you’re a high profile figure and you piss people off, expect to live your life under a microscope. This is what’s happening to Rush, and I believe the same thing would happen to those on the left.

To me, it’s really not newsworthy.

Acting like this is the crime of the century is absurd. Maybe we should lock up anyone that has prescription drugs in a container that doesn’t have the pharmacy label on it with their name on it. It’s the law, right?

Hey, you, Grandma! With the little pill organizer labeled Sunday-Saturday so you don’t get mixed up and forget which pills you took today. Yeah, you. Those pills arn’t in their government approved container. UP AGAINST THE WALL!

    Give me a break.

Hey Rich, of course you’re right, it is only a second degree misdemeanor, not a felony; my bad. Kirk, you wrote that last comment very well, law enforcement has enough to do other than go after every single little teensy infraction of the law. Perhaps this could be a good intro into debating the merits of decriminalizing low grade drug possession laws. We could certainly impact many lives by not locking up every single person who gets busted with some small amount of illegal drug, so long as they are not driving under the influence, or attempting to sell. What do you all think?

Bob, you’re not going to believe this, but I agree with you in part. I don’t believe in decriminalization, but I am in favor of de-emphasising the prosecution of certain drugs. Marijuana, like you said, should a be confiscation and a warning for the first offense, so long as the quantity is below 4 ounces. Most drug busts are for Marijuana, which even I agree is just a couple of rungs above alcohol. Drugs like Meth, Coke, Crack, and Heroin should never ever be decriminalized because those drugs have catostrophic effects on those that use it and the communities that are plagued by the drugs. Our nation is too big and populated to even consider decriminalization or legalization of drugs. A piss-ant country like Holland can get away with legalized drugs because they only have 16 million in their country. For us it would be legalizing all of the drugs in the state of Florida. It would devestate our country. But focusing our law enforcement on the hard-core drugs and those that supply it would be a better use for our cops.

Rich: I even agree with you, both on the Marijuana and the continued prohibition of the harder drugs. You are very right in the problems that occur because of the Meth, Coke, Crack, and Heroin uses. I am not sure of this, but as far as Marijuana goes, I don’t believe it is possible to overdose. Like I said before, if one is operating a motor vehicle under the influence of any controlled substance, there should be no tolerance. Personally I have never understood the “need” for any mind altering substance, the “need” to get high, or drunk. I have drank some before, maybe even been drunk once, but jeez, if your life is so miserable that you need that drink or toke just to face the day or the night, how sad is that? Even though I am not a user of marijuana, I was disappointed by the vote in the House concerning the Supreme Court decision regarding federal enforcement in states that have medical marijuana laws in effect.

I for one have never been against stiff drunk driving penalties. The radio ads they play on KVEC where they sate that 16,000 death can be prevented in California alone if people don’t drink and drive. That is one reason why I am so flummuxed by your constant harping on the Iraq war casualty figures. We have lost 2,500+ in three years but we lost 48,000 during the same time period in California alone. Not to get back on that topic, but if everyone that was opposed to the war would spend that energy on stopping drunk driving than possibly some of those 16,000, Americans all, would be alive next year. That is true waste of lives.

On a diferent topic… I have an idea on how to keep the oil companies in check on the price of gasoline. Pass a law that the oil companies (Shell, BP, Exxon, Chevron, etc) has to report daily the price to produce one gallon of gasoline. That price is all costs from the barrel of oil to the transportation cost to put the gas in the pump. The average price would then be published daily like the Dow Jones industrial average. The benefit is that: One, the American people would have a measure by which to look at the price and have a baseline by which to detect gouging, two, the people would be smart enough to ask the state and the feds why they tax gas so much and three, the Feds can ask individual oil company the WTF question if one company’s price is out of whack with everyone else’s price. What say you all?

I had my doubts when Rush first got popped for the abuse of oxycotin. Now, with the bottle of Viagra in his possession, I know that he is a HARDENED CRIMINAL.

Rush explained it two ways on the start of Tuesday’s show: He does not know how he got Bob Dole’s luggage, and he told his doctor he was worried about the next ELECTION.
