Getting Ready for Tuesday

Tuesday is Election Day — please get out and vote! Participate in this crazy, beautiful, screw-up, magnificent thing we call democracy. Make your voice heard. Make your voice count.

We’ll be doing a countdown to the election on Monday during the 4 to 7 period, dominated by our regular Election Eve Open Line, giving you a chance to call in and make your final arguments on the candidates and issues. We’ll also investigate allegations of campaign fraud. Check it out.

Meanwhile, here’s who I think will have a great time on Tuesday night (in no particular order): Katcho, Pat Hedges, Frank Freitas, everyone who ran unopposed, Rodger Anderson and Bruce Gibson. I think Judy Vick has a political future, but I don’t think she’s going to be able to bump off either Bruce or Rodger. They’ve both got the cash, name recognition and a solid constitutency.

In terms of Cuesta and Measure G, it’s been an interesting campaign. All the big mucky-muck community leaders are solidly behind this, but every single person I’ve heard from plans to vote no. They think the bond is too much; nor do they think Cuesta needs a South County presence. So, as much as I love Cuesta, I’m going to stick with my original prediction that the bond will fail.

Get out and vote!
