Desperately Seeking a Mayoral Candidate

First, the good news. With fingers crossed, we hope to be streaming both my show and the KVEC morning news, hopefully by Friday. Keep an eye on the web site at http://www.920kvec.com. The software is installed; we’re just tinkering.

So what’s happening in the upcoming mayor’s race in SLO-town? We already know that Dave Romero will seek a third term and the worst kept secret in town is that John Ewan intends to challenge Romero.

However, many in the local environmental community are not happy with Ewan at the moment, claiming he drank the political Kool-Aid when he voted in favor of the controversial Dalidio project. They want a third candidate. Mila LaBarre from Save San Luis Obispo has already announced that she’s considering a run, though few see her as the answer. They seek someone with legitimate environmental credentials who can split the vote three ways and win the mayor’s office. Christine Mullholland has already told supporters she won’t run, preferring instead to finish out her term. Jim Dee from the Palm Theatre was also approached, but he declined, as well — there’s no way Jim would run against his friend John Ewan.

So who does that leave? Any nominations???????

    Blog Etiquette:
Be yourself. Speak with your own voice. Write about how you feel about the issues. There are plenty of “straight news sites” out there. There is only one you, coming from your own background and history. Share your insight and feelings on the topics you love. That will draw in people who appreciate that view and who want to hear more.
(note) This is from an article written by Maureen Wood. I post it so that I might bring some clarity and simplicity to this important BLOG. Some of us want to hear from you…so jump in…and don’t ming the Plethoric diatribes…Just tell us what you think.

Labar is a really nice person, a horrible classroom teacher (read her reviews in rate my teacher.com) and if she cannot even run a high school class properly, how can you expect her to run a city like SLO? I personally had her as a teacher, and she was fun, kick back, flirty with the cute guys, and wild, but not a great teacher.
