Celebrating 14 Years

Today marks the 14th anniversary of The Big Broadcast, the beginning of our 15th season and the beginning of this new blog. In the very near future, “The Dave Congalton Show” will also be streaming on the Internet. I’m proud of all that we’ve accomplished over the last 14 years and look forward to embracing the “New Media” to take hometown radio to the next level.

This new blog will take a couple weeks to find its voice. Be patient. But check in often and participate by leaving a comment. Let Tom Madsen and I know what you like about the show and what you don’t like. I’ll use this blog to comment on the issues of the day, but also to give you a “heads up” about important upcoming segments and highlight links to the guests and topics we’ve covered.

Wednesday, January 11th, is a big day for us. Producer Tom Madsen turns 74 and we’re having an Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. C’mon by and have a piece of birthday cake, meet Tom and I and take a peek at our studios. KVEC is located at 51 Zaca Lane, off S. Higuera, in SLO.

Also on Wednesday: San Luis Obispo city councilwoman Christine Mulholland drops by and gives us a look at the big issues facing SLO in 2006. Christine is always good for an opinion so tune in and call in.

You, Tom, and your show are very entertaining; you’ve become the topic of conversation frequently in our household (a good thing).
We, your listeners, look forward to more and more and more entertaining shows.
    Congratulations and thank you . . .
